Dinopium benghalense
the back rumped-flameback woodpecker (also known as the kottoruwa in Sinhalese), is one of the few woodpecker that are seen in wooded urban areas. this species is usually seen in pairs or small groups. this bird has been depicted on a sir Lankan postal stamp.
