ASIAN ELEPHANT ELEPHUS MAXIMUS


The sir Lankan Elephant is  a herbivore, feeding off grasses, leaves, bark and fallen fruit. Although threatened by human encroachment, poaching, deforestation, drought and starvation, efforts are now being made to conserve and protect this much adored creature . sir lanka  ‘s elephant population is now largely restricted to a few national parks and nature reserves.
